According to AS, the Chelsea owner has identified the Real Madrid superstar as the best way to revive the Blues, with or without under-pressure manager Jose Mourinho
Is Cristiano Ronaldo the man to revive Chelsea after their dreadful start to the Premier League season? Blues owner Roman Abramovich is convinced that he is, according to a report in AS.
While Jose Mourinho is understood to be safe in his job due to a lack of available alternatives, Abramovich is claimed to be looking to pick up the team's fortunes by returning to the huge spending that defined the club in the years following his arrival.
The Spanish newspaper says that the Chelsea chief is readying "an irresistible offer" for Ronaldo that could break the world-record transfer fee by going over €100 million (£70.1m) - and that he is willing to fund the bid by selling first-team stars like Oscar, Nemanja Matic and even last year's Premier League Player of the Season, Eden Hazard.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in prising Ronaldo away from Real Madrid, with some positive noises over a move to France already allegedly having been made.
Chelsea are in dire trouble in their defence of the Premier League title, sitting just three points above the relegation places after 12 games of the season.
