CRISTIANO Ronaldo has addressed the speculation surrounding his future at Real Madrid, while Jurgen Klopp looks set to launch a raid on his old backyard.
Fresh from his latest Champions League wizardry, Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to quash rumours he is keen on a move away from Real Madrid.
The Portugal captain has been linked with a return to Manchester United or a big money move to Paris Saint-Germain, but insists he is happy in the Spanish capital.
“It is speculation. Every year, the same thing,” Ronaldo told Spanish TV station Antena 3.
“I am calm, I feel good, and I am happy here. I have two years of contract and I am going to stay here.”

Klopp has always insisted there’s nothing stopping him going after his former Borussia Dortmund players and it appears one of his Bundesliga-winning stars is on his way to Anfield.
Former Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz moved to Turkish side Galatasaray in the last window but a bungle with FIFA paperwork meant the deal fail to go through by the FIFA deadline.
The 27-year-old, who scored 23 goals from 176 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, is not eligible to play for his new Super Lig side until January and has endured a frustrating few months on the sidelines.
Adam Peacock, Simon Hill and Richard Bayliss are joined by Daniel Garb from the UK and Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Danny Vukovic to discuss the week in football.
The German is reportedly unsettled in Istanbul and is very keen to link up with his countryman and former manager at Anfield, according to
Takvim.
But one proven Bundesliga performer Klopp will struggle to lure to Merseyside is Bayern Munich maestro Xabi Alonso.
The former Liverpool hearthrob has become a mainstay of Pep Guardiola’s midfield at the Allianz Arena and appears to be enjoying life in Bavaria.
Despite persistent rumours of an Anfield second coming, Alonso is interested in extending his stay in at Bayern according to club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“In the near future we’ll give the situation some concrete thought and hold talks with Xabi and his agent. There is no truth in the rumours that he’s planning his departure,” Rummenigge told Sport Bild.
“He has led me to understand that he is interested in staying at Bayern. Xabi Alonso is a fine player who performs a very important role in our team.”
Liverpool also face an uphill battle to secure talented Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato.
The former AC Milan man is currently at Corinthians but is known to be keep on a return to Europe.
Aside from facing stiff competition for his services from the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham and West Ham, it also appears his current club will be making a last minute play to keep him on their books.
“[Pato] is a great player. I want him. He’s our future,” Corinthians manager Tite told Globo.
“He did a great last year [at Sao Paulo], it was a maturing process … He made important goals, and he enjoyed a major campaign in Sao Paulo. We would welcome him back with open arms, yes!”
Tottenham may be about to have a little more luck with Gent striker Laurent Depoitre who they hope to snap up for $30 million next month.
Mauricio Pochettino is acutely aware of his lack of forward options and has been actively scouting the Belgian this season.
Depoitre has turned down Gent’s latest contract offer, forcing the club to put him up for sale. The Daily Mail reports that a host of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace, Southampton, Leicester, West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Aston Villa are also interested.
Spurs have been forced to move for the Belgian after learning that West Brom have refused to speak to them regarding a transfer for out of favour striker Saido Berahino.
Tony Pulis has banished Berahino to the reserves after he attempted to force through a transfer in august and The Mirror understands West Brom are now refusing to deal with their Premier League rivals.
Chelsea are also known admirers of Berahino but their interest in the $40m striker is “nowhere near as strong as Tottenham’s”
There are rumblings of a very different kind in Wales with rumours awash that Brendan Rodgers has sensationally snubbed a fairytale return to Swansea.
The Swans sensationally sacked favourite son Garry Monk on Thursday morning AEDT following a run of one league win in 11 games.
The Mirror reports that Rodgers has expressed to those within his inner sanctum that a move to Swansea would be a backward step in his career progression.
One man apparently interested in the job is Ajax assistant Dennis Bergkamp.
The Arsenal great has been linked with a number of jobs in the Championship, including the vacancy at Reading, but The Express reports Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has sounded him out about a move to Wales.
Other contenders for the Liverty Stadium gig include Gus Poyet and Mark Warburton.
